MAYFLOWERS
MAYFLOWERS
As the sun bled through May
sprinkling red on the path of years,
Tears crawled as black snakes
on every page of my autograph!
A blot of lost love to cherish
and a cry of pain to part!
Words that wear a smile,
for the unseen future!
Dreams like strewn mayflowers,
some picked,others trampled!
A promise like a whiff of air
passing unnoticed!
A heartbeat that throbs
in fear and in pain
longing for the red flowers
yearning for the young chirps
of a campus lost from sight!
Isn't she still waiting for me
as a silent soul smiling
on the bed of mayflowers?
Like a page left unturned in the end
of my autograph
waiting endlessly to be filled!
